Arriving in Kuşadası, meant the end of the tour was approaching quickly. Over our time together we really enjoyed our compadres. We are a busy group, very interested and very active. We had folks on the tour who had been on more than ten Rick Steves Tours and some, like us, on their first tour. We all agreed that we had been part of a great trip, enjoyed a great guide and spent time with a great group of people!
Kuşadası is a beautiful city with a wonderful old town at it's heart. We stayed at a modern hotel right across from the boardwalk and bay. Wandering about the srea, we all enjoyed wrapping up the final souvenir and gift shopping, with more than a few of us needing to buy an extra suitcase or duffel bag to transport all our loot home in! This port city is an excellent place to do all this. We learned that the cruise ships will be returning in 2019, which will be a huge boost to this economy.
We had dinner at a really cool restaurant where you pick out the fresh fish you want from the catch of the day and they cook it up for you any way you'd like. We walked the boardwalk and enjoyed the fantastic sunsets. We visited with our friends and exchanged contact information. On our last night, we shared yet another delectable meal together, with a profusion of laughter and camaraderie filling the room. The perfect ending to the perfect trip!!
